RASIKH BARKAT, CHAIRMAN, AHMADIYYA MUSLIM RESEARCH ASSOCIATION INDIA
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Research Association India (AMRAI) held its first annual conference on the 28th and 29th of October 2024 at Darul Anwar Mosque in Qadian. The event was themed, ‘The Holy Quran and Interdisciplinary Approach: Revealing the Triangular Relationship of Science, Society, and Technology’.
Over two days, 20 research papers and presentations were delivered, including 16 by AMRAI members and 4 by Ahmadi missionaries and students of Jamia Ahmadiyya Qadian, the Ahmadiyya Institute of Languages and Theology. The conference was attended by 150 participants, comprising scholars, researchers, and students.
The discussions explored a wide range of topics across different streams of science, emphasising the importance of studying nature and undertaking scientific research as both a religious responsibility and a service to mankind. Key areas of focus included the alignment between science and the Quran, the existence of God and how the universe points to an Intelligence behind its design, as well as Islamic perspectives on various social issues and advancements in technology.
The event concluded with a presidential address by Maulana Mohammad Inam Ghouri, the National Executive Director of the Community. In his remarks, he emphasised the need for researchers and scientists to deepen their understanding of religious knowledge while encouraging religious scholars to expand their grasp of worldly and scientific disciplines. He commended the participants for their contributions and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in advancing the objectives of the Community.
This inaugural conference was a significant step in fostering meaningful dialogue and advancing research efforts within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, setting the stage for further academic and spiritual endeavours.
