FALAHUDDIN QAMAR, SECRETARY IJTEMA COMMITTEE
The national Ijtema (annual gathering) of Ahmadi Muslim men’s auxiliary, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya was successfully held in Qadian from the 25th to the 27th of October this year. The theme for this year’s event was, ‘Reformation of Deeds’.
The opening ceremony took place on the 25th of October and was chaired by the National President of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya. During the ceremony, the flag of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya was raised, followed by a silent prayer. A special message from the Worldwide Head and the Fifth Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba, was read out to all those in attendance. Following this, the annual reports of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya and Atfalul Ahmadiyya (young boys’ auxiliary) were presented.
The three-day event provided an opportunity for both the youth and children to participate in a variety of academic and sporting competitions. The aim of these programs was to foster unity, brotherhood, and enthusiasm among the participants. A special hall, named ‘Beacon of Youth’, was also designated for various workshops, where scholars presented discussions on several engaging topics.
The Ijtema also saw the culmination of the Peace Ride campaign, a remarkable initiative undertaken by six Ahmadi cyclists from Kerala. The campaign aimed to spread the peaceful teachings of Islam and raise awareness about the deteriorating global situation, particularly in light of the warnings given by the Ahmadiyya Khalifa about the impending threat of a world war. The cyclists traveled across ten states of the country, covering over 4,000 kilometers, to promote peace and advocate for the anti-war message. During the Ijtema, they were felicitated and awarded medals in recognition of their dedication and efforts in promoting interfaith dialogue, global peace, and the true teachings of Islam. Their journey was celebrated as a significant contribution to fostering understanding and unity across diverse communities.
The concluding session of the Ijtema was presided over by Wakil Tameel-o-Tanfeez for India, Nepal, and Bhutan. During this session, awards were given to the winners of different competitions. In addition, the top ten local branches (Majalis) and the five best district branches were also honoured with certificates graciously signed by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba.
The three-day gathering concluded with a silent prayer, marking the successful completion of the Ijtema.
