SAJEEL GHOURI, NATIONAL OUTREACH COORDINATOR
On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day of India, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community held celebrations at its national headquarters in Qadian, Punjab, and in various cities across the country, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Secunderabad, as well as many chapters in Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Kerala, and other regions. The programs generally began with the hoisting of the national flag, after which members of the Community reached out to their fellow citizens to share the joy of the day.
In Qadian, the flag hoisting took place at the premises of the office of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, the Community’s young men’s auxiliary, as well as at Jamia Ahmadiyya, the Ahmadiyya Institute of Languages and Theology.
Several local chapters marked the occasion with acts of service and goodwill. In Jakkur, Wayanad, and Kannur, members visited police stations and distributed sweets to officers as a token of appreciation for their dedication. The Palakkad and Thrissur chapters visited a centre for disabled children in their area, where they interacted with the children, shared joy, and distributed fruits. In Calicut, members celebrated by reaching out to police officers with sweets and by visiting both a blind school and an orphanage in the city, where fruits and ice cream were distributed to the children.
These activities, carried out in different corners of the country, reflected the spirit of gratitude and unity that Independence Day embodies. Through flag hoisting ceremonies, distribution of sweets and fruits, and visits to vulnerable sections of society, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community expressed its love for the nation and reaffirmed its commitment to service, harmony, and peace.
