On 1 October 2024, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community organised a seminar on “The Role of Youth in Promoting Peace in Society” at Vishveshvaranand Vishwa Bandhu Institute of Sanskrit and Indological Studies (VVBIS & IS), Sadhu Ashram, Hoshiarpur, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote understanding and peace through dialogue and education. My humble self had the honour of introducing the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to the audience, providing an overview of its history, mission, and the significant humanitarian and peace-building services it provides both in India and worldwide.
This was followed by the screening of a documentary that highlighted the Community’s global efforts in promoting peace, humanitarian services, and educational initiatives, along with a special emphasis on the guidance and peace initiatives of the Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr Mujahid Ahmad Shastri, Manager of the Weekly Badr, who spoke about the importance of promoting harmony in society and the role of youth in contributing to social development and peace.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed, where Mr Mujahid Ahmad Shastri and Mr Farhat Ahmad Malkana, In-Charge of the Hindi Desk at the National Publications Department, engaged with the audience. The students raised thoughtful questions regarding faith, peace, social responsibilities, and the Community’s stance on contemporary issues, which were addressed with clarity and insight.
In addition to the seminar, a stall was set up displaying a variety of literature about the Community, allowing attendees to gain further knowledge and information about its beliefs, activities, and humanitarian services.
The event concluded with mutual appreciation, fostering a better understanding of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s dedication to service, peace, and education.
