The word Khilafat means succession, and the Khalifa is a successor to a Prophet of Allah whose goal is to carry to completion the tasks of reformation and moral training that were seeded by the Prophet. The community of followers of a Prophet of Allah continues to nurture its faith and practices under the blessing of the institution of Khilafat for as long as Allah wishes. Allah says in the Holy Quran:
“Allah had promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be rebellious.” (Surah Al-Nur, Verse 56).

These campaigns have received worldwide media coverage and demonstrate that Islam champions peace, loyalty to one’s country of residence and service to humanity.
He awakens the world that the world is passing through very turbulent times. The global economic crisis continues to manifest newer and graver dangers almost every week. The similarities to the period just before the Second World War continue to be cited and it seems clear that events are moving the world at an unprecedented pace towards a horrific Third World War. He warns the world of the fast approaching dangers and how it can avert disaster and chart a course to peace.

On 11 February 2014, His Holiness delivered the keynote address at ‘The Conference of World Religions’ held at the Guildhall in London. During his address, His Holiness outlined Islam’s commitment to promoting mutual understanding, tolerance and respect based on the teachings of the Holy Quran and the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad(sa).
In 2004, His Holiness launched the annual National Peace Symposium in which guests from all walks of life come together to exchange ideas on the promotion of peace and harmony. Each year the symposium attracts many serving ministers, parliamentarians, politicians, religious leaders and other dignitaries.

A wide range of politicians, bureaucrats, and academicians benefitted themselves from this address.

In 2012 Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May Allah be his helper) delivered a faith-inspiring address in the Military Headquarters Koblenz Germany where he addressed colonels and brigadiers on the topic "Islam's teachings of Loyalty and Love for one's nation". This speech of profound knowledge advocating Islamic principles and values towards one's nation was highly appreciated by the military officials.
On 10th October 2019, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad delivered a historic address in the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The event was attended by over 80 dignitaries and guests, including diplomats, politicians, academics, and the representatives of think tanks, as well as business leaders and various other professions. In his speech, his holiness said that there is no contradiction between science and religion. His Holiness insisted that Education is the Key to Global Peace and stressed on the education of girls.
He regularly meets presidents, prime ministers, other heads of state, parliamentarians and ambassadors of the state. Some of his notable speeches are:
His Holiness takes a particular interest in alleviating the suffering of developing nations, by helping to improve their agriculture and facilitating access to food, clean water and electricity. He oversees the work of the International Association of Ahmadi Architects and Engineers (IAAAE), an organisation briefed with leading various humanitarian and development projects, in remote areas of the world. The scope and expertise of this organisation have grown at a rapid rate under his leadership. Likewise, His Holiness supports the work of “Humanity First“, an international non-profit disaster relief and development charity and other such organisations.
His Holiness has travelled globally to promote and facilitate service to humanity. Under the leadership of His Holiness, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has built a number of schools and hospitals that provide excellent education and healthcare facilities in remote parts of the world. His Holiness strives to establish peace at every level of society.
Following his election in 2003, His Holiness was forced into exile from Pakistan, his native country. Pakistan’s Constitution and Penal Code restricts members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from practising or associating with Islam, or from even identifying themselves as Muslims. Violations of these repressive laws results in fines, imprisonment, and potentially capital punishment. Consequently the legislation prevents His Holiness from fulfilling his duties as Head of the Community and accordingly he is unable to return to Pakistan.
Despite the continued sectarian persecution that Ahmadi Muslims are subjected to in various Muslim majority nations, His Holiness expressly forbids any violence. On 28 May 2010, anti-Ahmadiyya terrorists attacked two mosques belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Lahore, Pakistan. 86 Ahmadi Muslims were martyred during their Friday Prayers, whilst scores more were injured. Despite the barbaric nature of this pre-meditated crime against humanity, His Holiness instructed Ahmadi Muslims worldwide to respond only through prayers and entirely peaceful means.
At an individual and collective level, on local, national and international platforms, His Holiness is striving to advise all others of the practical means of establishing peace, based on the true teachings of Islam. Some of his Golden words are quoted below;
“The Holy Quran does not tell people to scrutinize one another’s differences, rather, it speaks about looking at that which is common between people. That uniting factor amongst different religions is a belief in the One God.” Nahe, Germany — 26 October 2019
“In terms of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, we believe that under no circumstances does Islam permit the use of force or any type of coercion in the spread of faith.” Berlin, Germany — 22 October 2019
“Unquestionably, women play an indispensable role in society because the future - generations lie in their laps and grow up in their tender care.” Lajna UK Ijtema - 15 September 2019
“We should utilise all of our energies and faculties to pursue peace by seeking to end every conflict amicably, through dialogue and mutual compromise and by fulfilling the rights of one another.” 9 March 2019 - National Peace Symposium UK
“Is it right for a religion to change its basic beliefs due to the latest fashion trends or should it remain true to its original teachings? A true religion would always remain on its original teachings.” Germany 2015
“We should seek to help the disadvantaged in a selfless manner and should never exploit them in any way. Unfortunately, in today’s society where projects or opportunities are created to apparently ‘help’ the disadvantaged, they are often based on a system of credit where the repayment is subject to interest. For example, students are often given loans to help them complete their education or people take loans to start businesses, yet it takes them years or even decades to repay them. If after years of struggle, or an economic crisis strikes, then they can end up at the original level of debt or quite possibly in an even worse financial state. We have witnessed or heard about countless examples of this during the past few years, when many parts of the world have been plagued by a financial crisis”. German Mosque 2012
“This factor is obvious from today’s credit crunch. In the beginning there were individuals who borrowed money to buy property; but before they could see ownership of the property they used to die burdened with the debt. But now there are governments that are burdened with debt and smitten as if with insanity. Large companies have become bankrupt. Some banks and financial institutions have folded or been bailed out and this situation prevails in every country, regardless of its being rich or poor. You know better than I do about this crisis. The money of the depositors has been wiped off. Now it depends upon governments as to how and to what extent to protect them. But for the time being, the peace of mind of the families, business-men and leaders of the governments in most countries of the world has all but been destroyed”. British Parliament 2008
Foreign policy injustice continues to be prevalent and is fuelling wars in different countries leading to the deaths of innocent men, women and children. Certain major powers continue to prioritise their business interests over and beyond everything else and so are selling extremely advanced weapons to other countries, even where there is clear evidence that such artillery is being used to kill or maim innocent people and to destroy countless lives. York University Canada 2016
We must remember that when human efforts fail, then God Almighty issues His Decree to determine the fate of mankind. Before God’s Decree sets into motion and compels people towards Him and towards fulfilling the rights of mankind, it would be far better if the people of the world should themselves come to pay attention to these crucial matters, because when God Almighty is forced to take action, then His Wrath seizes mankind in a truly severe and terrifying manner. 9th National Peace Symposium UK
God’s Law, however, is perfect and so no vested interests or unfair provisions exist. This is because God only desires for the good and betterment of His Creation and therefore, His Law is based entirely on justice. The day the people of the world come to recognise and understand this crucial point will be the day that the foundation for true and everlasting peace will be laid. US Capitol Hill 2012
