Grill Your Doubts, Ignite Your Faith: Khuddam Discussion Forum at Gonikoppal

USAMA ABDUSSALAM, AHMADIYYA MISSIONARY GONIKOPPAL

On 8–9 November 2025, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (Ahmadi young men’s auxiliary) Gonikoppal organised a unique and engaging discussion programme titled “Grill Your Doubts, Ignite Your Faith”. The programme combined spiritual and intellectual discussions with an enjoyable barbecue evening and a refreshing coffee estate walk the following morning.

Twelve Khuddam from the Gonikoppal, Mysuru, and Madikeri chapters participated in this two-day event held at the beautiful premises of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Masjid, Gonikoppal. With the valuable support of the District President of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Bangalore and the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Gonikoppal, the event was well organised, offering both spiritual enrichment and a strong sense of brotherhood. The Masjid’s natural surroundings, located near lush coffee estates, added immense peace and beauty to the atmosphere.

The programme formally began with silent prayer, followed by a short but inspiring address by the National President of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Niyaz Ahmed Naik Sahib, delivered through Google Meet. During his speech, he specifically alluded to a couplet of the Second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Founder of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddinra, in which he stressed the need for “Do Diwane”—two passionate individuals—for the success of any movement.

After the address, the main discussion session began. The environment was relaxed and welcoming, allowing the youth to express their thoughts freely. Throughout the programme, tea, snacks, and fresh juices were served, keeping the atmosphere lively and comfortable. As the evening grew cooler, a barbecue was prepared beside the discussion area, adding warmth and excitement. The delicious aroma of grilled food filled the air as the Khuddam continued their deep conversations while enjoying the meal.

Discussions ranged across various topics, including Islam’s distinction as the perfect religion, the signs of the Promised Messiahas, responses to common allegations against Islam and Ahmadiyyat, and the importance of developing a habit of reading the books of the Promised Messiahas.

The next day, following the Fajr prayer, the Khuddam enjoyed a light breakfast of tea and eggs before setting out on a peaceful walk through the nearby coffee estate. The refreshing air, scenic beauty, and calm environment served as a reminder of Allah’s magnificent creation. Many Khuddam—especially those from urban areas—were delighted by the first-time experience of seeing coffee plants, pepper vines, and rare species of insects and birds. It offered a beautiful opportunity for reflection and brotherhood amidst nature.

Following the walk, a feedback session was held to gather reflections from all participants. The Khuddam expressed great satisfaction and gratitude for this initiative, sharing that the event helped them understand their faith better.

The dedication of the participants—some of whom travelled long distances to attend—demonstrates the deep desire of today’s youth for meaningful, sincere, and engaging spiritual experiences.
