RISHAD M, REGIONAL PRESIDENT, KHUDDAMUL AHMADIYYA KERALA
On 27 and 28 September 2025, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (young men’s auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community) Kerala, in collaboration with the Noorul Islam and Dawat-e-Illallah departments (both of which oversee the Community’s outreach activities in India), jointly organised a youth camp titled, Into the Woods, at Cozy Caza resort in Wayanad, Kerala. The event was the second edition of the Into the Woods series and evolved into a deeply spiritual gathering, bringing young men together in collective worship, panel discussions, and interactive question-and-answer sessions. The camp saw the participation of above 50 Khuddam from different districts of Kerala.
Apart from intellectual discussions and talks, the program also included pool games, emphasising the importance of physical exercise in Islam, and a trekking activity, carrying an anti-drug message. The programme succeeded in blending spirituality with recreation.
The two-day event offered participants a refreshing spiritual and intellectual experience, inspiring them to reflect deeply and think rationally about their purpose in life.
The first day of the camp featured a panel discussion titled “Beyond the Horizon”, which shed light on how Jamia Ahmadiyya contributes to building a new world through knowledge, service, and sacrifice. The session also featured experts from various fields sharing their insights on leadership, business, science, technology, and research. The discussion explored how spirituality and material pursuits can be balanced and why spiritual values must take precedence over materialism.
A session titled “Tabligh in the Age of Technology” followed, focusing on the effective use of modern digital tools and online platforms for conveying the message of Islam. Participants learned how to utilise the internet efficiently and responsibly to spread the peaceful teachings of Islam in the modern age.
Later, the “Talk It Out” session provided an open forum for dialogue, enabling participants to express their views, clarify doubts, and share personal reflections. The day concluded with the live screening of the address to women delivered by the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba, which all participants listened to with keen attention.
The second day began early with the congregational Fajr prayers. Soon after, Khuddam embarked on the “Trekking Against Drugs” initiative, which aimed to raise awareness among youth about the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of physical fitness and healthy recreation.
The camp concluded with an emotional session titled “Personal Journey of Faith”, where four new Ahmadi youth shared their inspiring stories of how they came to embrace Ahmadiyyat, what it means to them, and how their love and loyalty to Khilafat guide their lives. Their courage, sacrifices, and devotion deeply moved the audience and served as a source of motivation for other young Ahmadis. Their heartfelt experiences encouraged everyone to recognise their blessings and express gratitude to Allah.
The main objectives of the camp were to strengthen love for Allah, develop a bond with Khilafat, and to make the youth more aware of the spiritual treasures bestowed by the Promised Messiahas. The programme achieved these goals to a great extent, offering participants a renewed sense of spiritual vitality and intellectual awakening. Many expressed their firm resolve to apply the lessons learned from the camp in their daily lives.
Into the Woods 2.0 was not just a camp; it was a journey of faith, brotherhood, and transformation.
