On 21 September 2024, a seminar was held at Sikh National College, Qadian, on the theme “The Role of Youth in Promoting Peace in Society.” The program was organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as part of its outreach efforts to engage students in dialogue on peace and social harmony.
The event began with an introductory speech by Mr Mohammad Nooruddin Nasir, General Secretary of the Community in Qadian, who presented an overview of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, its history, and its ongoing humanitarian and peace-building activities. This was followed by the screening of a documentary that highlighted the Community’s worldwide initiatives for peace and service to humanity, with special reference to the guidance and global peace efforts of the Caliph and World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

The keynote address was then delivered by Mr Mujahid Ahmad Shastri, Manager of the Weekly Badr. In his speech, he emphasised the vital role of youth in building a peaceful society, urging them to adopt positive values, contribute to social development, and act as ambassadors of harmony in their communities.
After the keynote, an interactive question-and-answer session took place with a panel comprising Mr Mujahid Ahmad Shastri, Mr Ataul Mujeeb Lone, Principal of Jamia Ahmadiyya Qadian, the Ahmadiyya Institute of Languages and Theology, and Mr Husam Ahmed, Editor of Light of Islam. Students raised thoughtful questions on topics of faith, peace, and Islam’s stance on various social and contemporary issues, which were addressed by the panel with clarity and depth.
The program concluded with an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation. The collaboration with Sikh National College provided a valuable opportunity to engage with young students on the importance of peace and service, and to present the vision of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in contributing towards a more harmonious society.
