On 8 February 2026, members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Students’ Association (AMWSA) Sweden were blessed with a virtual meeting with Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba, the Worldwide Head and the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. His Holiness presided over the meeting from the MTA Studios in Islamabad, Tilford, UK.
During the meeting, students had the opportunity to seek the Khalifa’s guidance on a range of issues. A ninth-grade student asked how a Muslim can survive a potential World War 3 and how one should plan for the future when the world seems so unstable.
In response, His Holiness stated:
When a bomb strikes, it does not distinguish between Muslims and non-Muslims. However, in light of what the Promised Messiahas has said regarding wars,
“There is a fire, but all those shall be saved from this fire
Who possess love for the God of Great Wonders”,
there will be a lesser degree of loss for those who are true Ahmadi Muslims. Hence, if one truly loves Allah, they will be saved from this fire. But if not, we too will bear the brunt of it like everyone else. Therefore, we must develop a strong relationship with Allah so that we may become the recipients of His bounties.
As a whole, the Jamaat will, Insha’Allah, be preserved, although individuals may experience some form of loss. In any case, we must build a relationship with Allah so that He may first protect us—or, if the alternative happens, then He may be pleased with us.
The world is becoming unstable because people of the world are chasing worldly pursuits. In a Hadith I recently narrated in a Friday Sermon, the Holy Prophetsa said: “What connection do I have with worldly things?”
Indeed, Allah has bestowed blessings in this world; one should benefit from them and make plans accordingly. As Ahmadi Muslims, we must understand and strive to fulfil the purpose of life in this world, which is to worship Allah, to become His grateful servants, to act upon His commandments, and to fulfil the rights owed to His creation. If we do these things, we shall remain safeguarded from it [war], and it is with this very outlook that we shall continue to plan.
If, instead, we sit thinking that we do not even know whether we shall remain alive in this world or not, then it can lead to depression—we will become depressed. Therefore, so long as life remains, keep striving and struggling. For however much life Allah has granted, seek His help, plan wisely, and strive to excel in whatever field you pursue.
Hence, rather than being discouraged, one should work hard for as long as life endures. Whether or not a war occurs, no one knows how long they will live—or even whether they will take their next breath. It is not guaranteed that a fifteen-year-old will surely remain alive, nor that a forty-year-old or an eighty-year-old will certainly pass away.
Hence, to give up, to stop doing anything, or to abandon planning for what one wishes to achieve in life is the way of those who have no hope. Those who place their trust in Allah do not speak in this manner. Rather, they obey the commandments of Allah, serve humanity, make proper plans, and endeavour to excel in whatever field they choose to pursue.
