MANSOOR AHMAD K A, IN-CHARGE, BEACON OF YOUTH
For three years now, the Beacon of Youth hub has been an integral part of the Khuddamul Ahmadiyya National Ijtema in India. By the grace of Allah, it has continued to grow into one of the most vibrant and engaging sections of the Ijtema. The purpose of this initiative is to focus on the moral, spiritual, and intellectual development of the youth—to nurture not only their minds, but also their hearts and souls.
This year’s Beacon of Youth featured four main components that together created a dynamic and enriching experience for visitors.
The first was Ijtema Insights, a series of talks and discussions on diverse contemporary and spiritual topics that encouraged young minds to explore faith, reason, and modern challenges through open dialogue.
Ijtema Insights
The first and main highlight of the Beacon of Youth was Ijtema Insights. Throughout the three days, the hub hosted a variety of talks, presentations, and discussions covering a wide range of topics—from faith and spirituality to science, technology, and society.
Scholars and professionals from diverse fields engaged with audiences in interactive sessions that encouraged open dialogue and reflection. The question-and-answer segments, in particular, kept the sessions lively and intellectually stimulating.
Over the course of the Ijtema, numerous talks were delivered on themes such as the concept of God in the age of science, the true philosophy of prayer, divine wisdom behind suffering, Islamophobia, the refugee crisis, the hidden dangers of gender politics, artificial intelligence, social media, and contemporary views on marriage and dating, among many others.
Some special sessions also took place, including first-hand accounts of meeting the Caliph by those who attended Jalsa Salana UK, a behind-the-scenes look at MTA India Studios, and experiences shared by Waqifeen-e-Nau (life devotees) on their education and service in different departments of the Community.
One of the most popular sessions, Intikhab-e-Sukhan, brought together several gifted singers who movingly recited poems of the Promised Messiahas and the Khulafa, captivating the audience with their heartfelt renditions.
Ijtema Insights remained one of the most attractive parts of the hub and indeed one of the highlights of the entire Ijtema.
Tarbiyyat Corner
The Tarbiyyat Corner was designed to inspire reformation among the youth and to revive the spirit of reading and reflection. With a special emphasis on the works of the Promised Messiahas and the Caliphs, this space sought to reconnect the younger generation with the original sources of guidance within the Community.
In an age when the reading habit is steadily declining, the Tarbiyyat Corner reminded visitors of the timeless relevance and transformative power of these books. The setup encouraged Khuddam to browse, read, and discuss—fostering an environment of quiet learning and introspection.
Letter to Huzur
One of the most moving aspects of the Beacon of Youth was the Letter to Huzur section. Here, visitors were invited to write personal letters of prayer and devotion to the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba.
During the course of the Ijtema, hundreds of letters written by attendees were collected in a special box and faxed directly to Huzuraba. This section reiterated the importance of writing regularly to the His Holiness and served as a means of strengthening their bond with Khilafat.
Recreational Section
The recreational hub within Beacon of Youth offered several indoor games such as chess, puzzle games, Ludo, and snakes and ladders. Children and young Khuddam gathered here to relax and enjoy some healthy competition in a friendly environment. It provided a refreshing break from the more intellectually demanding sessions, ensuring a well-rounded experience for all visitors.
A place of light and reflection
Throughout the Ijtema, the Beacon of Youth attracted hundreds of visitors each day. For many, it became not only a place to engage in spiritual and intellectual discussions, but also a comfortable space to sit, relax, and rejuvenate.
The atmosphere of the hub—with its aroma of Sulaimani tea, warm hospitality, and spiritually enriching talks—created a unique blend of comfort and inspiration, providing a place, where young minds and hearts came together in pursuit of knowledge, faith, and brotherhood.
