On 24 September 2022, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hyderabad chapter organized a peace symposium on the theme “True and Sustainable World Peace” at Novotel Hotel, High Tech City in Hyderabad. The event witnessed a gathering of over 150 people from different walks of life.
The Program was presided over by Mr Tanveer Ahmad, the president of the Community in Hyderabad. The national anthem was played before the session started. The program formally commenced with the recitation of some selected verses of the Holy Quran by Mr Tahir Ahmad. Thereafter, the English translation of the verses was presented by Mr Mohammad Suhail followed by the Telugu translation by Mr Javed Ahmad Pasha. Mr Sajeel Ahmad Ghouri, vice president of the Community in Hyderabad, then gave an introductory speech, where he presented a brief description of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and its various endeavours and programs in service to humanity. He also mentioned the dedicated efforts of the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community with regard to establishing world peace.
The program included four speeches by honourable guests, Prof. Thangeda Kishen Rao, vice chancellor of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Dr A Saibaba Goud, the founder of Devnar School for the Blind, Ms Meghana Musunuri, educator and entrepreneur, top 50 finalists of Global Teachers Prize 2021 by Varkey Foundation, and Mr Saida Reddy, a senior journalist and documentary maker, all of whom shared their views on the establishment of peace in society. A documentary introducing the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and highlighting its various endeavours for world peace was also shown during the program.
Mr Noor Miyan gave a speech in Telugu, wherein he highlighted the Islamic teachings in relation to establishing peace. Mr Husam Ahmed Shafeeq, who was representing the Community from its national headquarters delivered the keynote address. Specifically focusing on the concluding address of the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba on the occasion of Jalsa Salana Germany, he presented the guidelines put forth by His Holiness with regard to global peace, which include wishing for others what we wish for ourselves, fulfilling the requirements of justice, and recognizing the Creator.
In the end, Mr Tanveer Ahmad delivered the presidential address wherein he thanked all the guests who had come to attend the event. The program concluded with silent prayers led by Mr Tanveer.
