On 16 September 2025, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community organised a seminar on “The Role of Education in Promoting World Peace” at MVN JS and RVR College of Arts and Science, Malikipuram, Andhra Pradesh. The event aimed to highlight the transformative power of education in nurturing understanding, compassion, and lasting peace in society.

The programme began with the screening of a documentary that illustrated the worldwide efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the fields of education, humanitarian service, and peace promotion. The presentation showcased various initiatives undertaken by the Community to uplift underprivileged societies through schools, clean water projects, and awareness campaigns, reflecting its belief that education is the key to sustainable peace.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr K Tariq Ahmad, National Director of Outreach, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India, who spoke about the vital link between education and peace-building. He emphasised Islam’s teachings on the pursuit of knowledge as a lifelong duty and its indispensable role in promoting social harmony and global stability. He also drew attention to the lack of education in many developing nations, explaining how poverty and illiteracy often trap communities in a vicious cycle of hardship. With increasing access to the internet and exposure to global progress, such deprivation can lead to frustration, which is then exploited by extremist groups to misguide and radicalise vulnerable youth. He underlined that the only lasting solution to such challenges lies in ensuring access to education for all and nurturing minds that value peace and service to humanity.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion and expressions of gratitude from the college administration, who appreciated the Community’s message of peace and educational empowerment.
