The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of India extends its heartfelt wishes to all the people of the Nation on the occasion of this Independence Day.
On this special occasion of Independence Day, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India extends its heartfelt wishes to all the people of the country. We honour those who sacrificed their lives and gave us the chance to breathe the air of freedom.
India is a democratic country. Every citizen of this country participates equally in the development of this country. On this Independence Day, we must pay attention towards our duties for the nation and for the people of this nation.
Advising his countrymen, the Holy Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, states:
“My countrymen, a religion which does not inculcate universal compassion is no religion at all. Similarly, a human being without the faculty of compassion is no human at all. Our God has never discriminated between one people and another. This is illustrated by the fact that all the potentials and capabilities which have been granted to the Aryans have also been granted to the races inhabiting Arabia, Persia, Syria, China, Japan, Europe and America. Let us also treat our fellow human beings with dignity and respect and do not be narrow-minded and narrow-handed.”

The Holy Founder of Islam, Prophet Muhammadsa, taught that love for one’s nation is a part of faith. Thus, sincere patriotism is a requirement in Islam. To truly love God and Islam requires a person to love their nation. It is quite clear, therefore, that there can be no conflict of interest between a person’s love for God and love for his country. As love for one’s country has been made a part of Islam, it is clear that a Muslim should strive to achieve high standards of loyalty towards their nation because it is a way to achieve nearness to God and get closer to Him. Therefore, it is impossible that a true Muslim’s love for God will ever be a hindrance to loving and remaining loyal to their country.
Islam enjoins the observance of the laws of the land and advises the inhabitants of any country to refrain from any act which is immoral, objectionable or has any aspect of rebellion in it.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India extends this message that every Indian should try to play their positive and significant role for the peace, development and welfare of this nation.
On this auspicious day, let us pledge to create a beautiful society by adopting the religion of humanity and eliminating the differences based on caste, colour, creed and religion. We pray that Allah makes our beloved country, India, a cradle of peace and blesses it with progress upon progress.
