On 12 February 2023, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Madikeri chapter organized a peace symposium on “The Devastating Consequences of a Nuclear War and the Critical Need for Absolute Justice” at Aurika Hotel in Madikeri. The event witnessed a gathering of over 100 people from different walks of life.
The program was presided over by Mr G M Mohammad Shareef, president of the Community in Madikeri. The national anthem was played before the session began. The program formally commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr K M Ibrahim, followed by its Kannada translation by Mr Yusuf and English translation by Mr Safal Ahmad. Moulana Mohammad Kaleem Khan, the missionary of the Community in Madikeri, then gave an introductory speech presenting a brief description of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and its various endeavours and programs in service to humanity. He also mentioned the dedicated efforts of the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community with regard to establishing world peace.
After that, a documentary was played introducing the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and highlighting its various endeavours for world peace.
The program included five speeches from the following honourable guests: Air Marshal (retd) K C Nanda Cariappa, Indian Air Force, Mr K Arkesh, Inspector General of Police (retd), CRPF, Dr P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya, vice chancellor of Mangalore University, Ms M Kavitha Karumbaiah, faculty and franchisee Brainobrain, Madikeri, and Mr K P Balasubrahmanya Kanjarpane, renowned advocate and author.
Mr Husam Ahmed Shafeeq, representing the Community from its national headquarters, delivered the keynote address. In his speech, he presented the guidelines of the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba, with regard to establishing global peace. In light of His Holiness’s address on the occasion of Jalsa Salana Germany 2022, Mr Husam said that the following were the keys to establishing lasting peace in the world: wishing for others what we wish for ourselves, fulfilling the requirements of justice, and recognizing the Creator.
In the end, Mr G M Mohammad Shareef gave the presidential speech wherein he thanked all the guests who had come to attend the event. He also led silent prayers, after which the program concluded.
