Masroor Cricket, Football and Volleyball Tournaments 2022

Majlis-e-Sehat India – a subsidiary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community aimed at promoting the importance of physical fitness among the members of the Community by organizing sports events – successfully hosted this year’s Masroor Cricket, Football and Volleyball tournaments in which, various teams from the district of Gurdaspur participated.

Masroor Cricket Tournament

The 6th edition of the Masroor Cricket Tournament was organized in Qadian from 22 February to 3 March 2022. Among the 16 teams from the Gurdaspur district that participated in the tournament were two teams representing the Ahmadiyya Cricket Club.

Due to weather conditions, the final match could not take place and hence, the two finalists, Ahmadiyya Cricket Club and Marshall Cricket Club Gurdaspur were declared as champions and shared the trophy.

Masroor Football Tournament

Masroor Football Tournament 2022 was held from 28 February to 2 March 2022. 16 teams from the district of Gurdaspur participated in the tournament. Two teams represented the Ahmadiyya Football Club.

Jaito Sarja Football Club became the champions after defeating Ahmadiyya Football Club in the finals. Following a very tight contest where both finalists scored one goal each, the match went to penalties in which, Jaito Sarja successfully converted all five of their attempts to seal a 3-5 victory.

Masroor Volleyball Tournament

Masroor Volleyball Tournament 2022 was held from 27 February to 28 February 2022. 16 teams from the Gurdaspur district participated in the tournament, of which, two teams represented the Ahmadiyya Volleyball Club.

Parowal Volleyball Club and Sarchur Volleyball Club faced each other in the finals in which, Parowal became the champions.

Winners and runners-up of all three tournaments were awarded trophies and cash prizes. Similarly, players who performed exceptionally were also awarded prizes.

During the tournament, teams which were participating were conveyed the peaceful teachings of Islam and were informed of the purpose of such tournaments, which was to promote the importance of physical fitness and to further the values of peace and brotherhood amongst one another.
