Independence Day 2026: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India Extends Wishes

The Holy Prophet Muhammadsa himself taught that love for one’s nation is a part of faith.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India extends its heartfelt Independence Day wishes to all the people of our nation.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India extends its heartfelt Independence Day wishes to the people of our nation. We deeply value and honour all those who sacrificed their lives so that we could breathe the air of freedom and live as a free people.

India is a democratic country in which every citizen has an important role to play in its progress and development. Independence Day reminds us of our responsibilities towards our nation and its people, and inspires us to fulfil them with sincerity, dedication and a spirit of service.

Advising his countrymen, the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, says:

“My countrymen, a religion which does not inculcate universal compassion is no religion at all. Similarly, a human being without the faculty of compassion is no human at all. Our God has never discriminated between one people and another. This is illustrated by the fact that all the potentials and capabilities which have been granted to the Aryans have also been granted to the races inhabiting Arabia, Persia, Syria, China, Japan, Europe and America.”

[A Message of Peace, p. 6]

Thus, we should treat our fellow human beings with dignity and respect and should not be narrow-minded.

The Holy Prophet Muhammadsa himself taught that love for one’s nation is a part of faith. In other words, sincere patriotism is a requirement in Islam. To truly love God and Islam requires a person to love their nation. Therefore, it is quite clear that there can be no conflict between a person’s love for God and their love for their country. Since love for one’s country has been made a part of faith, a Muslim should strive to uphold the highest standards of loyalty towards their nation, as this is a means of attaining the nearness of God. Hence, it is impossible for a true Muslim’s love for God to ever be a barrier to loyalty towards their country.

Islam enjoins its followers to observe the laws of the land and instructs them—wherever they may live—to refrain from all acts that involve rebellion or immorality.

On this occasion, the educational institutions of the Community in Qadian also celebrated Independence Day. A blood donation camp was organised by Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association) in Qadian.

Independence Day reminds us that every citizen of India should play a positive role in promoting the peace, development and welfare of the nation. On this auspicious occasion, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India urges all the people of India to come together to build a beautiful society by embracing the values of humanity and eliminate all differences based on caste, colour, creed and culture.

We also pray that God Almighty may always keep our beloved country, India, as a cradle of peace and bless it with continued progress and prosperity.
