Towards the end of his Friday Sermon delivered on 2 January 2026 at Mubarak Mosque, Islamabad, Tilford, UK, the Worldwide Head and Fifth Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba, addressed the occasion of the New Year and said:
As we know, the new year began yesterday, and people are exchanging greetings on this occasion. Pray that this year becomes a source of immense blessings. May Allah frustrate the plots and ploys of the opponents, and grant the Community progress even greater than before.
We—especially those living abroad in free countries—are enjoying freedom and celebrating the new year. People in Pakistan and other parts of the world are also marking this occasion. At such a time, we must remember our (falsely) imprisoned brothers in our prayers. In the jails of Pakistan—as I mentioned in the last sermon regarding Mubarak Sani Sahib, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment—there are many other Ahmadis who remain incarcerated. Even under these circumstances, they are entering the new year with gratitude to God Almighty, without complaint. They have willingly borne iron shackles for the sake of Allah. May Allah soon secure their release.
May Allah grant us, as well as these imprisoned Ahmadis and all others facing hardship, an even greater understanding of His love. May our love for Allah never diminish because of trials, but instead increase.
Also pray for all those who are oppressed. May Allah deliver people everywhere from the grip of oppressors, and may peace be established throughout the world.
