SHAIKH RAGEB ALEEM, PRESIDENT, KHUDDAMUL AHMADIYYA OSMANABAD
JUNE 23, 2023
On 30 May 2023, as a part of our monthly social service drive under Khidmat-e-Khalq, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Osmanabad distributed coconut and fruit packets among patients at the Government Medical College and General Hospital in Osmanabad, Maharashtra.
Khidmat-e-Khalq, literally meaning ‘service to mankind’, is a subsidiary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s young men’s auxiliary, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya. Every month, the department of Khidmat-e-Khalq undertakes initiatives to serve the less fortunate sections of society and extend a helping hand to those facing challenging circumstances.
This month’s program saw a fruit-distribution drive for patients admitted at the Government Medical College and General Hospital, Osmanabad. Our members distributed coconut and fruit packets among around 50 patients admitted in three different wards in the hospital.
The patients expressed their heartfelt appreciation for our humble effort. Evidently, the fruit packets provided not only physical nourishment but also a sense of solace and care in their journey towards health and wellness.
The teachings of Islam emphasize the importance of reaching out to those in need and providing support during times of difficulty. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s social service initiatives reflect this core principle, inspiring members to engage in acts of kindness and compassion, mirroring the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammadsa.
The social service campaign of Khidmat-e-Khalq also serves as a reminder of the power of collective efforts in making a positive impact on society. It inspires others to follow suit and actively participate in social service activities, spreading love, empathy and hope to those in need.
Those who participated in this program include Mr Tariq Ahmed, the district president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Osmanabad, Mr Abdus Samad, the vice-president of the Community’s Osmanabad chapter, my humble self, members of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Osmanabad as well as members of Lajna Imaillah (the Ahmadiyya women’s auxiliary) Osmanabad. Apart from these, Dr Tanaji Lakal, a civil surgeon at the Government Medical College and General Hospital Osmanabad, social worker Ganesh Ranba Waghmare, Dr Santosh Patil and other friends from outside the Community also joined hands with us at the event.
