The grand objectives of this convention are to establish mutual love, understanding, compassion, and foster piousness and piety.
The spiritual gathering also aims to lay the foundation for interfaith harmony and peace among different communities.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India is organising its 128th Jalsa Salana (annual convention) at its headquarters in Qadian from 29 December to 31 December 2023. This spiritual convention was initiated in 1891 by the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, under Divine command with the aim of fostering interfaith peace, harmony, and reconciliation.
The primary objective of this spiritual gathering is to guide the world towards its Creator, fostering compassion among God’s creation, and promoting brotherhood and unity. This convention is not just an ordinary event, rather, it stands as a unique and distinguished gathering due to its nature and historical significance.
This spiritual congregation is attended by people who come from distant places, enduring various hardships of travel.
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas explains the purpose of this convention in the following words:
“The desire and true purpose of the Jalsa was that the members of our Community, through repeated meetings [with me], should somehow achieve such a change in themselves that their hearts become fully inclined towards the hereafter, and the fear of God should develop within them; and that they should become for others an example of piety, righteousness, virtue, forbearance, tenderness of heart, mutual love, and brotherhood; and they should develop in themselves humility, hospitality, and integrity, and embrace with zeal the carrying out of religious campaigns.”
In these three days, various speeches are delivered, propelling individuals toward paths of moral and spiritual advancement. Every attendee participating in this gathering feels an inner strength and rejuvenation. They also experience a renewed sense of faith and morality upon their return, refreshing and revitalising their beliefs and conduct.
Through this gathering, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community conveys the message that man should turn towards his Creator. Abiding by the principle of ‘Love for All, Hatred for None’, one should respect the religious sentiments and emotions of others and should strive for the betterment and prosperity of God’s creation.
