The Promised Messiah (Peace Be Upon Him): The Truest and Most Devoted Servant of the Holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him)

“The greatest example of acting upon this noble model of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was seen in this era in his truest and most devoted servant, the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him).” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad

On 13 February 2026, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba delivered his Friday Sermon from the Mubarak Mosque in Islamabad, situated in the village of Tilford in the United Kingdom.

In recent weeks, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba had been highlighting the extraordinary life of the Holy Prophetsa, and the devotion and love that he possessed for Allah the Almighty.

In light of this, His Holiness spoke about the truest and most obedient servant of the Holy Prophetsa, the Promised Messiahas, and his devotion to following the teachings and practices of the Holy Prophetsa during his own lifetime.

Introducing this topic, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba said:

“The greatest example of acting upon this noble model of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was seen in this era in his truest and most devoted servant, the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him).”

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba continued:

“Today, I will relate those incidents of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) which he carried out in following his Master (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).”

Drawing attention towards the early life and childhood of the Promised Messiahas, His Holiness narrated the pious routine of the Promised Messiahas which was adopted by him at a very young age.

His Holiness said:

“[As a child,] The Promised Messiah’s (peace be upon him) practice was that after the Isha prayer at night, he would go to sleep early, and then would rise at around one o’clock for Tahajjud. After offering Tahajjud, he would continue reciting the Holy Quran. Then, when the morning call to prayer was given, he would offer the Sunnah prayers at home and go to the mosque for the congregational prayer and perform it in congregation. After the prayer, he would lie down for a short while.”

With regards to the supreme level of worship the Promised Messiahas exhibited, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba said:

The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) stated that Allah the Almighty granted him the strength to [excel in] worship. The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) said that it is not for everyone to act in this manner and to exert themselves to such an extent. Thus, he said, ‘Allah the Almighty has granted me a special strength.’”

Expounding upon this further, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba explained that the Promised Messiahas says that he remained distant from innovations and artificial displays of piety, and followed a sincere path of devotion.

The Promised Messiahas described how Allah guided him through a dream towards observing voluntary fasting in accordance with the noble tradition of the family of the Holy Prophetsa, as a means of preparing to receive divine blessings.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba explained that the Promised Messiahas began to observe these fasts in secrecy, often giving his meals to orphaned children so that none would know of his worship except Allah.

Over time, Allah the Almighty granted the Promised Messiahas extraordinary spiritual bounties due to these fasts.

Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba, whilst reading an excerpt from the writings of the Promised Messiahas, explained the spiritual bounties that Allah the Almighty granted him.

The Promised Messiahas states:

“Among the extraordinary features of those fasts which I experienced were revelations from Allah the Almighty that were revealed to me during that period… spiritual lights appeared in green and red colours, so captivating and enchanting that describing them lies entirely beyond human capacity. The luminous pillars that ascended towards the heavens, some shining white and others red, were so intimately connected with the heart that merely beholding them filled it with immense delight. No worldly pleasure can compare to the joy and spiritual ecstasy that was experienced upon seeing them.”

The Promised Messiahas further stated:

“In my view, these pillars were symbolic representations of the mutual love between God and His servant. One light arose from the heart, and another descended from above, and through their union, they formed a pillar. These are spiritual realities which the world cannot recognise, for they lie far beyond worldly sight. Yet there are some in this world who are granted awareness of such matters.”

Thereafter, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba highlighted various incidents recorded during the lifetime of the Promised Messiahas, illustrating his devotion to Allah the Almighty.

His Holiness continued to highlight that the Promised Messiahas embodied the perfect example set before us by the Holy Prophetsa.

Whilst concluding his sermon, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba prayed:

“May Allah the Almighty grant us all the ability to offer our prayers with the same zeal as the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him). We have pledged allegiance to the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), with the commitment that we will observe our prayers in accordance with the commands of Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and that we will offer our prayers while remembering the favours of Allah the Almighty and praising Him. May Allah enable us to fulfil this pledge. Ameen.”
